ABOUT ME

I am an experienced humanistic integrative counsellor drawing on elements of Person-Centred, Existential, Gestalt, and Compassion-Focused therapy.
During the therapy process, we play the role of fellow travellers. Along with the assumption that the client has the greatest power to change - I focus on expanding their self-awareness by getting to know themselves and determining the direction and purposefulness of life activities.
My approach is holistic and creative. Focused on feelings, experience and being in the moment. I work with you as a whole, paying attention to mind, body and spirit to support health and healing. As each person is different, I use various psychotherapeutic tools to meet the individual needs of the client.
While methods and techniques are important, they can only be effective in the right relationships and environment. Therefore, I provide conditions that foster an empathic, accepting, authentic and trusting relationship between the two of us. A relationship where you feel safe to open up and process the painful aspects of your experience and where you will be supported to heal, grow and reach your full potential.

I am a member of Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland (COSCA) and British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), bound by their Ethical Framework.
I am fully insured and regularly supervise my work.

For several years I worked in academic environments, where I gained experience working with people from different backgrounds and cultures. I also volunteered for various organisations, including the Polish Consulate in London.
Since 2021 I have been working as a Counsellor at Feniks Counselling organisation in Edinburgh.

Practical information
I offer the following types of therapy:
-
Short-term - usually 10-12 sessions - more structured and focused on a distinct goal (e.g. looking at a pattern of negative thinking)
-
Long-term - lasting from several months up to several years - allowing the client and the therapist to devote their time to unpacking troubling and sometimes traumatic matters.
If you are not sure which one is the best for you, we can discuss it together during the initial consultation.

I provide online and face-to-face counselling and psychotherapy. Individual session usually takes place once a week at the same time and place.
Both the initial consultation and therapy last between 50 and 60 minutes and cost £60. There are few concession places available for people struggling financially.
